This Fly-in lodge with it's own runway (both on
deeded property) offers American plan fishing
adventure packages which includes accommodation at
the lodge, boat, motor, guide and airfare from
Winnipeg to the lodge and return. The size of the
fishing lodge is important. The lodge is able to
accommodate large groups; however, still small
enough to offer more personalized service.
Regardless of the size of the group, the lodge can
accommodate from one to thirty. The Sportsman is in
the heart of the remote Canadian wilderness. Every
cabin is well furnished with the everyday modern
conveniences.
This lodge
is located in one of the most picturesque and secluded
areas of the Lake. It is not only a fishing lodge, but
is also an original Hudson's Bay Trading Post. Each of
the seven cabins has oil heat, electricity, and a three
piece bathroom with flush toilets and individual
showers. A good place for the guests to call home after
a full day of fishing. At the main lodge, the guests
dine in comfort in front of the stone fireplace.
THE FISHING
The finest fishing Canada has to offer" Trophy fishing
for Northern Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout and Brook Trout
on the world famous river. Trophy size Canada Northern
Pike, Canada Lake Trout, and Canada Walleye are caught
within minutes of the lodge. In the season of 98, their
was a 47.5" Northern Pike caught right off shore at the
lodge. On the days when the weather is less than perfect
or when health reasons dictate, the guests can fish
within minutes of the lodge and still have an excellent
opportunity to land that big one. No matter which way
the wind blows, the guests of this lodge will always
have productive water to fish. For groups who like to
book early, the location on the lake offers some of the
first water to be ice free.

however, the guests will make themselves at home in one
of the seven rustic log cabins. It's a true Canada
fishing paradise with world class fishing adventure. A
shore lunch of morning's catch, cooked on the rocky
shores will be their daily treat! The guests will rough
it in comfort as they enjoy a shore lunch of morning's
catch, in remote Northern Manitoba where they will find
crystal clear water, abundant wildlife, and beautiful
virgin wilderness.
THE HISTORY
This lodge is not only a fishing
lodge, but is also an original Hudson's Bay
Trading Post. The guests will experience the
same untouched wilderness the first explorers of
North America saw hundreds of years ago. They
can walk on the sand beach where Cree Indians
landed their birch bark canoes filled with fur
to trade for the white man's goods. Beaver pelts
were the currency of the day and were traded for
muskets, knives, axes, cooking pots, beads and
blankets. Although we only read of such things
in history books, the guests of the lodge have a
chance to go back in time and have the same
experience of exploring the virgin wilderness at
this lodge.
